When the Ministry of Health launched the “Your Wellness Matters” campaign on March 23, 2023, Prime Minister Philip Davis declared, "The Bahamas is faced with a nationwide health crisis." According to Health officials, 45% of deaths are premature due to chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, respiratory disease, heart disease and cancer.
